Even though I am passionate about photography, that is not why I am a photographer. I am a photographer because I am passionate about people. I love watching couples gazing into each others eyes lovingly, forgetting that I am watching and photographing them. I love watching how tender dad is with his 5 day old baby girl. I love seeing the look of pure joy on a baby's face when I do something silly. I truly feel fortunate to be able to call something that I love doing my "job." I do have the best job in the world - I get to meet wonderful people everyday. My clients, both big and small, inspire me not only to become a better photographer, but a better person as well. The newborns and babies that I have the privilege to photograph remind me of the miracles of life. The children I get to work with keep me on my toes to be true to myself, to be authentic, and to be sincere - they can smell insincerity a mile away. Most of all, I love feeling the love in the air. When mom and dad bring in their new baby into my studio, or their brood of children, or during a maternity session when it's just mom and dad, I can literally feel their love. THAT is what moves me; what drives me. The love is what I work for - to create timeless portraits of that intangibility, to freeze those moments when so much emotion are being felt. As you peruse this blog, I hope you will not only be able to see, but also be able to feel, all that love. That is my goal.
